Apple, Inc Strategic Leadership 2010 vs 2015 Steve Jobs Steve Jobs was an effective strategic leader in 2010. He was able to achieve this effectiveness through his innovation, passion, determination, and foresight of consumerââ¬â¢s future needs. Jobs focused on ââ¬Å"vision rather than realityâ⬠that allowed him to ââ¬Å"imagine a new order of things that others could not seeâ⬠(Kalla). His creations followed a structured and detailed method. He ââ¬Å"pushed suppliers for new benchmarks then adopted the first breakthroughâ⬠¦Ã¢â¬ (Kalla), instead of revamping another companyââ¬â¢s product. Not only did he strive to develop products that set Apple products apart, he also made it exclusive so that he could maintain the superior image of Apple. Jobs considered the userââ¬â¢s need for ease and his desire for superior innovation to produce simple yet elegantly designed products (Zenger). This allowed Apple to set themselves apart and stay ahead of the competition. Though his pursuit of perfection could lead him to be overbearing to those around him, he would always deliver (Kalla). He was able to do this because his confidence pushed others to deliver. His passion was contagious and he had a ââ¬Å"powerful magnetic personality to motivateâ⬠(Kalla). He thought outside of the box and believed that everything was achievable. This view of Jobââ¬â¢s is known as Reality Distortion Field.
